[Wisdom Teeth]

the day came and i wish it never would, it came way too fast! i got my wisdom teeth out. and yet i dont feel any dumber. anyways,

i am getting my wisdom teeth out with Jean Brown Research Study. they were doing the study on what medications help you the most with pain. so when i got my meds, i did not know what i was taking. i would also get money from doing the study. i was not worried about doing the study because Kyle did it about 6 months ago and he did fine with it. so i thought it would be nice to be able to get a little bit of money out of it!!

i left my house at 5 in the morning and mom drove me to salt lake. no makeup, hair up, pillow and blanket in hand. i was scared out of my mind! once we got there and i checked in, the nurses put me into a room with one bed, a tiny table, and a small tv. they took away my phone and my ipod because in this study, you are not allowed to know what time it is all day long. there was not a clock in my room either. i knew that this would be my new home for the day. Once my mom left and i was sent upstaris with the other 20 scared teenagers, and just my luck i was chosen to get my wisdom teeth out first.

Once i sat down on the dental chair, the doctors told me that i would only be getting my left side wisdom teeth out and not all 4 because it would be too much pain for me if i got all of them out. I was actually happy at the moment. but now i regret that because now i have to go through this all over again in 6 months. they gave me some laughing gas and a couple shots in the mouth to numb be up. yes i did not get put under. the whole they were pulling out my teeth, i heard every crack and felt every tug. it was actually kind of cool. then they stitched me up. it took them 10 minutes to get my teeth out and i got taken back to my new home for the day.

i had to drool into a bucket for 4 hours. they told me if i would try to spit, i could get dry socket and that would not be fun. so i did what they said and it was so nasty!! the bucket was so full of spit and blood, i started gaging after awhile because it looked so sick! i watched 2 movies, The RV and night at the museum 2, before i got my meds. my mouth was not numb anymore from the shots so i felt tons of pain! after both of those two movies were over i got my meds and i cannot even explain how much that helped me! they told me that after i get the medication i would not be able to go home for 6 more hours. i was pretty bumbed. they came in my room every 5 minutes for a whole hour and i had to fill out a pain paper. then it carried on to every 10 minutes. then every half hour. they turned on another 2 movies for me. i watched Mrs. Doubtfire and The wedding planner. and took 2 naps. this was the longest day of my entire life! they also fed me mashed potatoes and pudding. it took me a whole movie to finish it. it is so hard to eat!! it sucks!

I got home at 6 pm and i took more meds because my mouth was killing. and i put an ice pack on my face because my cheek is big. it was so worth the money! i got $250 bucks from doing this study!! and every penny was worth it! thanks to everyone who brought me ice cream and popsicles! it helped me lots! i cant eat anything and that made me feel great! i have amazing friends!! :) lets hope i will be able to eat normally very very soon!!
